How To Turn Your Bathroom Into A Wellness Retreat

There’s no place like home, and every home should have a room where it’s pure bliss, your place of calm, your sanctuary. For many, our retreat is otherwise known as the bathroom, because nothing quite compares to coming home to relax after a day of running around.

But what if I told you you could create your own spa-like oasis with just a few extra tweaks. Keep reading to find out how to transform your bathroom into a wellness retreat.

Fresh fluffy towels

Investing in beautiful, luxurious fluffy towels is always a great start to creating a spa-like atmosphere. Choosing neutral colours and displaying then over a towel rack is a great way to show their intention and upgrade the space.

Waffle dressing gown

What’s a spa without a good waffle dressing gown to mill around in? The perfect self-care clothing piece, both on it’s own or over your favourite loungewear and some cosy slippers, the waffle dressing gown adds extra spa-like detail and is a great throw on while you have a face mask session. Remember to add a headband before you start your skincare regime so not to get product in your hair.

A high performing skincare routine

Indulge in a spa worthy facial using high-performance skincare including essences and serums. Although not as popular anymore, I still live for the six to ten step skincare routines coined by the K-beauty industry, the longer I can sit in self-care skin heaven the better. However, If you are not sure on your lactic acids from your glycolic acids, my advice would be to stick to your usual skincare products that might be much more sensitive in ingredients and the routine which is currently working. An effective skincare routine doesn’t have to be formulated with chemical, they can be products which simply calm and soothe the skin in a simple cleanse, tone and moisturise routine. Just remember to follow up with a spa-like lip balm.

Music

And lastly of course you’ll need music to set the mood. Create a playlist specifically for your bathroom spa and press ply to help you unwind. Choose music that calms you and helps you relax.

Bring nature from outside, in

Not only do plants bring that earthy grounded feel to your bathroom spa they also improve the air quality and serve as a source of oxygen which is ideal for for respiratory health.
